DESCRIPTION
The Department of Nursing at Otterbein University, a comprehensive liberal arts institution, invites qualified registered nurses to apply for the position of a one-year Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor of Nursing beginning August 2024. We are interested in strong educators who look forward to engaging with a diverse student body and teaching undergraduate courses (e.g., foundations, evidence-based practice, informatics, and/or pharmacology; maternity, pediatrics, psychiatric, and/or community nursing) that align with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach a range of undergraduate courses (e.g., foundations, evidence-based practice, informatics, and/or pharmacology; maternity, pediatrics, psychiatric, and/or community nursing) that align with their qualifications and experience. Other responsibilities include advising students and service. Our visiting faculty member will be expected to maintain competence in nursing through clinical practice and maintain competence in teaching through professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Master's degree required for instructor appointment. A DNP degree or a PhD in nursing or a related field is required for an assistant professor appointment. All applicants must have an Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio without unresolved Board Action, general content knowledge in nursing appropriate to teach at the undergraduate level, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. Preferred qualifications: Experience in medical/surgical nursing or high-acuity nursing, teaching experience in a baccalaureate programs, experience in curriculum and evaluation, and experience using technology-enhanced learning tools and approaches.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
START DATE: August 2024.
COMPENSATION: For the rank of Instructor - $62,000; for the rank of Assistant Professor - $71,500 (plus full University benefits).

All degrees and certificates are nationally accredited through 2026 by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
