Job Title:Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics& StatisticsDepartment:Mathematics & StatisticsJob Description:

The Mathematics & Statistics Department at Rhodes College invites applications for a 2-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Mathematics to begin August 2024. Teaching responsibilities will include six courses per year at all levels of our mathematics curriculum. The Mathematics & Statistics Department offers majors in Mathematics, Biomathematics, and Mathematics & Economics; and minors in Mathematics and Statistics. The faculty of the department value active learning pedagogies that prepare students to effectively and compassionately solve problems using the critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills developed through the study of Mathematics and statistics. The successful candidate must demonstrate a firm commitment to teaching at a liberal arts college. The faculty of the department work to provide students with opportunities to engage in meaningful undergraduate research through collaborative research with faculty and through supporting student applications to REUs. While research is not a required component of this position, research and other professional development will be supported with annual research/travel funds.
