Job Summary:
The College of Arts and Sciences of Our Lady of the Lake University seeks a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor for its Biology Program for the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 academic year. Biology is one of the most vibrant, successful, and popular programs on campus. Housed in the Department of Mathematics and Sciences, it offers a BA, BS, teacher certification, and minor and serves the University by offering distribution requirements in its general-education program. The successful candidate will be committed to the mission and identity of OLLU, to excellent teaching, and to growing this program.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Biology or a similar field, applicants with Ph.D. will be given preference.
- Evidence of diverse pedagogical training and familiarity with teaching strategies such as problem/project-based learning, active learning strategies, flipped classroom, etc.
- Ability to teach General Biology I, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, and Introduction to Life Sciences for non-majors.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching freshman biology
- Experience working with a broad student demographic and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates.
