Virtual Career Camp Instructor
Essential Qualifications:
- Must pass level 2 background check.
- Background in recreation services, human services, social work, education, vocational assistance, technical instruction.
- Experience in teaching job readiness skills such as resume writing, coaching, mentoring, leadership skills, how to look for and apply for jobs, job accommodations, money management, how to apply for college, math, reading, science, coding, STEM/STEAM, how to take a skill and turn it to a job, etc.
- Must have a combination of the following: Master's Degree and 6 months experience, Bachelor's degree and 1 year experience, or an Associate's degree and 2 years experience, OR 4 years experience working with people with disabilities.
- Cultural sensitivity
- Mentoring, prompting, and personal assistance experience
- Ability to communicate and listen to information in a non-judgmental manner
- Ability to supervise and lead a large group of teens in order to keep them safe
- Understanding of human sexuality, child and adolescent development
- Personal experience with a disability preferred
- Must have own laptop and internet access
- Must be familiar with the Zoom and Google Drive platforms
Essential Responsibilities:
- Promote the Independent Living Philosophy
- Reports directly to the Coordinator of VR Services
- Engage youth with disabilities in various interactive activities during the program time
- Observe safety rules and provide continuous supervision of youth
- To use and teach creative problem solving skills
- Provide training on curriculum provided
- Establish a rapport with youth and community collaborators
- Encourage the development of decision making skills, independent living skills, leisure activities in the community and support positive self-esteem with students
- Adhere to principles of confidentiality
- Track & input data in a web-based system
- Other duties as assigned
- Adhere to the CILO policy and procedures manual

Job Type: Temporary Seasonal FT position
Must be able to get fingerprinted if not in state clearinghouse.
Must attend brief paid training session prior to camp start date.
Dates of Camp: May 28th-June 1st, June 3rd–June 15th, June 17th–June 29th, July 1st–July 13th, July 15th-July 27th, July 29th-Aug 10th
Daily Schedule: Camp Instruction 8am-3pm, one-hour lunch from Noon-1, case notes entered 3pm-5pm.
