This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidates is expected to report to the Tech Center in Warren, MI on a full-time basis
The Role
The General Motors Design organization is transforming the future of transportation and mobility solutions. This is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a small team within our Global Creative Visualization (GCV) group where you would have lots of project ownership and creative input .
Our GCV team is seeking a Videographer/Photographer who can demonstrate a high level of execution through a portfolio including varied professional quality productions with contemporary executions and storytelling.
Applicants must have ability to quickly develop a shooting plan capturing the personality of vehicles and talent, as well performing efficient and clean editing and other required post production/retouching.
Members of the GM Design GCV Photography/Video team must have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to follow feedback/art direction with a keen attention to detail.
Applicants must be self-motivated and have current demonstrable knowledge of photo/video pipelines involving high quality efficient productions both in solo and team productions.
This role requires the submission of a portfolio/reel. Please see instructions below.
What You'll Do:
- High level of integrity around the confidentiality of our business.
- Ability to react quickly to the day to day needs of Design capturing vehicles in development, events and people.
- Shooting both on location and in studio.
- Execution of creative representations to capture the personality of vehicles as well as literal depictions responding to guidance and direction.
- Negotiate and problem solve to get the best possible shots.
- High quality editing, post production, stills retouching and mastering.
- File management and following GCV conventions around archiving and delivering images.
- Working closely with Leads and Managers from other GCV Departments on collaborative projects (CGI, Art Direction & Enhancement) with the ability to replicate the styles of others.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- College degree with a major in an Art/Design based discipline, or representative experience.
- Knowledge of photo/video pipelines involving high quality efficient productions both in solo and team productions.
- High quality reel with varied styles and executions at a professional level.
- RED/Black Magic/Canon/Adobe/Davinci pipeline experience preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel. This role has the potential to require travel once every 2-3 months for 3-4 days.
