- Join a multifaceted team that covers the surgical Critical Care and medical intermediate care units.
- Primary role as a neuroCritical CareAdvanced Practice Practitioner working six (6) 13-hour days shifts in a two-week pay period.
- Will have the opportunity to cross cover other APP lead service lines.
- Evaluate and address medical problems specific to Critical Care,
- Be competent in ventilator management,
- Effectively request consultation of other specialties when indicated,
- Create diagnostically appropriate treatment plans,
- Document all medical evaluation, history, physical, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, and referrals consistent with The Joint Commission, state regulatory standards, and evidence-based standards of care. Maintains documentation compliant coding and billing.
- Function professionally on an interdisciplinary team,
- Utilizes appropriate chain-of-command and communicates with specialties, APP directors, and medical director.
- Competent in ultra-sound guided procedures including Central line placement, arterial line placement, US-guided IV placement; training provided during onboarding.
- Other procedures include chest tube placement, thoracentesis, paracentesis, Impella management, ballon pump management.
- Cross-cover additional services as experience permits.
- Demonstrates competence and skill in required tasks and procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and competency in required subspecialty.
- Completes at least 50 hours of Category I CME every two years. Including 32 hours of trauma related CME.
- Performs according to Maryland BOP standards and expanded job description procedural protocols.
- Facilitates excellence in quality assurance and the delivery of patient care as part of our High Reliability Organization.
- Provides optimal quality of patient care while following safety guidelines.
- Maintains a procedure complication rate less than the national average.
- Contributes to cohesive group relations; uses open communication to resolve problems in and between departments.
