The Video Production team is integral to developing and executing a wide range of visual mediums for new and existing clients, networks, and digital distribution outlets, including live television broadcasts, live-to-tape television specials, documentaries, episodic series, commercial production, virtual events and branded content. The Video Production team is seeking to hire a Trainee (0-1 years experience) with demonstrated specialized interest in Live Streaming & Media Management.
The Trainee program is the means for entry-level hiring for Intersport. A Trainee position is full-time, with salary and benefits, and covers a period of six months. At the conclusion of the six-month period, a Trainee is hired on to a permanent position based on a number of factors: 1) their performance as a Trainee, 2) Intersport's company performance, and 3) macroeconomic conditions. A Trainee position is by definition a training position - one in which they will be taught while doing real work. A Trainee must make a discernable impact and prove themselves; it is not in any way an internship position. The Trainee program is competitive by design and its purpose is hire the very best entry-level talent and grow that talent into a permanent team member of increasing responsibility and career advancement over time.
Job Overview:
As a Live Streaming & Media Manager Trainee, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Live Streaming operations, understanding various video and audio formats, managing streaming platforms, and contributing to the optimization of video compression techniques. You will also be tasked with learning and mastering Intersport's Media Management techniques and workflows inclusive of project initiations, field DIT responsibilities, media ingest and archival finalization. This position is perfect for someone with a strong passion for Live Streaming, digital media, and a foundational knowledge of video and audio technologies and data management.
Responsibilities:
Live Streaming Operations:

• • Assist in the setup and execution of Live Streaming events.
  • Work closely with the Live Streaming team to ensure the technical aspects of broadcasts, including video and audio quality, are of the highest standard.
  • Troubleshoot and address technical issues related to Live Streaming.

Media Format Knowledge:

• • Demonstrate understanding and familiarity with various video and audio formats.
  • Collaborate with the team to optimize content for different platforms and devices.
  • Contribute to the adoption of industry best practices for media format usage.

Streaming Platforms:

• • Manage and operate Live Streaming platforms such as Twitch, YouTube Live, ESPN+ and others.
  • Stay updated on platform-specific features, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Implement strategies to maximize visibility and engagement on different streaming platforms.

Video Compression:

• • Work with the team to implement and optimize video compression techniques.
  • Collaborate with content creators to ensure efficient use of bandwidth while maintaining high-quality video streams.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in video compression technologies.

Media Management

• Work with the Post Production Coordinator to learn Intersport's Media Management practices and systems
• Execute media ingests.
• Become a reliable point of contact for restoring archival materials and archiving completed projects.

Training and Development:

• • Participate in ongoing training programs to deepen knowledge of video and audio technologies.
  • Collaborate with mentors and senior team members to expand expertise in Live Streaming and Media Management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in media studies, Communications, Broadcasting, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of various video and audio formats and video compression techniques.
• Familiarity with Live Streaming platforms (e.g., Twitch, YouTube Live).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Enthusiastic and eager to learn about emerging trends in the industry.
