Job Title: Video Production Specialist
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Marketing Manager
Job Summary
The Video Production Specialist is a full-time position on the Blade HQ marketing team. Video content is a core part of Blade HQ's marketing strategy. Our videos both entertain customers and inform them about our wide product range. All of this is possible thanks to our behind-the-scenes video staff. They would need to work in both short and long formats, produce and edit short and long-form videos for Blade HQ's social media accounts, taking footage that has been shot by production teams and editing it based on project specs. The finished product will represent the best of the company and the video producer's skill.
Responsibilities
  • Edit short- and long-form videos for Blade HQ's social media accounts
  • Ensure videos meet the marketing team's specifications and guidelines
  • Implement creative notes from team
  • Shoot at tradeshows, events, social media content, and as needed, website content
  • Evaluate projects for brand authenticity
  • Inject humor into videos (cut-ins, memes, pop culture references, etc.)
  • Upload videos to YouTube multiple times per week, including thumbnail creation and video description when needed.
  • Recut and condense existing video projects for delivery to multiple social media platforms
  • Keep up to date with the latest video marketing trends
  • May include other duties as assigned by management

Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent at both speaking and writing in the English language
  • Familiarity with video editing software like Davinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects skills a plus
  • Create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content for customer stories, internal company announcements, external promotions on social media, product marketing, recruiting, corporate training and other enterprise-wide projects
  • Script, storyboard, budget, allocate resources, set deadlines and select optimal forms of media for projects
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent storytelling skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Work independently or as part of a team to establish project deliverables with the capacity to communicate effectively
  • Ability to pick out attention-grabbing shots
  • Manage your time effectively to meet daily and weekly video editing goals
  • Ability to receive and give feedback.
  • Understanding of tactical, outdoor, and adventure markets a plus.

Preferred qualifications
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work with multi-track split audio/multi-cam timelines
  • Talent for sound design
  • Color grading is strongly preferred.

Physical Demands
  • Safe handling of knives and other edged cutting tools.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Sitting and/or standing for long periods.
  • Typing, clicking, and looking at computer screens for long periods.
  • Crawling, hiking, squatting, sitting, running, hanging, jumping, etc. to get the perfect shot.

Work Environment
  • The Video Editor spends time in the studio, office, and on-location.
  • May be assigned to shoot in mountains, deserts, lakes, shops, anywhere, as well as early in the morning or late at night. Working on location can be dusty, dirty, hot, cold, loud, long, and uncomfortable.
  • This is an on-site position. No freelance or remote.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, emphasis in broadcast, broadcast journalism, film, television, or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in videography and editing required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • Full-time position (40 hrs/week). Salary. Must be willing to arrive at work by 9 a.m.
