Video Editor/ Writer/ Producer - XXL - New York, NY

XXL is seeking a Video Editor/ Writer/ Producer to join our production team. In this role, you will edit video content, shoot occasional interviews with artists, write scripts, createdocumentary-style content and newsstories, make social media videos for our various platforms and assist in creating original. Applicant must be a fan of hip-hop and understand current trends, including music, lifestyle, and video.

Who you are: you live and breathe hip-hop. You grew up shooting and editing music videos with your friends, and you have an eye for production design and visual storytelling. You can set up a lighting design in a studio or film a freestyle in the streets. You are a passionate storyteller, strong with a camera, and have sharp editing skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with the XXL editorial staff to create stylized videos.
• Editing lists, news stories, interviews, and more, plus writing scripts and shooting content
• Create videos from the ground up in-house, filming both from home and on-set.
• Media intake and management, and motion graphics.
• Graphic design skills to create eye-catching thumbnails for YouTube.
• Work on social videos for the brand's social platforms: Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.
• Posting content on YouTube and keeping track of analytics.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of experience minimum in production and post-production
• Expertise in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
• Experience in production and lighting design.
• Extremely organized when it comes to file structure, naming, communication - anything really.
• Be deadline-oriented - you offer a quick turnaround without sacrificing quality
• Be part of a creative team, take feedback easily, but aren't afraid to speak your creative voice.
• A working knowledge of YouTube analytics, optimal upload practices, and the algorithm is a plus.
