Position Summary/Objective
The Creative Communications Department at Hearst operates within the corporate division, focusing on conveying the brand's message across various platforms. We collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure alignment with Hearst's mission and values. Our work spans print, web, social media, photography, and video while staying updated with current storytelling trends to engage audiences effectively. Our approach is driven by innovation and a commitment to delivering impactful content. We are a team dedicated to communicating Hearst's message through modern storytelling techniques.
The Video Editor reports to the Creative Director and will be responsible for internal and external video content that is featured on websites, social media and other marketing collateral.
Essential Functions

- Video editing and animation using Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Creation of promotional videos, tutorials, and sizzles for Hearst.com, social media platforms, and annual reports (DE&I, Sustainability, etc.).
- Script and storyboard development.
- Providing creative direction and support, including notetaking during shoots.
- Reviewing video footage and compiling highlights.
- Pre- and post-production communication with leadership, stakeholders, and clients.
- Ability to create long, medium and short length marketing materials for web and social media.
- Preferred additional experience with designing printed and digital materials such as brochures, invitations, flyers, signage, posters, and evites.
Desired Experience & Competencies
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive under multiple deadlines while maintaining a collaborative team spirit.
- Fluency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Proficiency in Adobe Audition, PowerPoint, Keynote, Adobe XD, and HTML coding for websites and email is highly desirable.
- All applicants must provide a portfolio showcasing their work.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in video editing/animation and graphic design.

The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $85,000-$100,000. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate's starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
