About this role
The Global Allocation team is seeking a Vice President to work on thematic and macro equity investment strategies. The GA Thematic Strategy seeks to exploit technological change and innovation, policy evolution, and dislocations across global industries through concentrated equity baskets and derivative strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for markets and will be intellectually curious, collaborative, and proactive. The candidate should have experience conducting independent research on macro themes and be able to leverage internal and external resources to build, structure, and monitor high conviction global thematic investment ideas. Additionally, the successful candidate will support the Head of Thematic Strategy with development and production of external/ client materials and contribute to the development of a macro industry framework.
Additional Responsibilities
Develop and maintain tools for analyzing global equity markets – spanning earnings, technicals/ sentiment, and valuation.
Conduct global cross-sectoral thematic research; identify and monitor associated catalysts and risks.
Interact with sell-side analysts as well as company management teams via meetings, calls and conferences.
Collaborate with both fundamental and quantitative analysts within GA and Fundamental Fixed Income.
Create and update macro and thematic presentation decks.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of research or trading experience; fundamental equity experience a plus.
Solid foundation in economics and understanding of the macro drivers of asset markets.
Strong analytical skills and facility in both manipulating data and synthesizing conclusions. Charting and graphics skills are highly desirable.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Superior interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
Collaborator who can build relationships and work with teammates in different locations.
Excellent time management skills and strong work ethic.
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $147,500 – $209,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
