About the Job:
The Vice President, SHE&S will have the primary responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive safety and security strategies, programs, and policies mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role will lead all aspects of safety and security operations, including risk management, incident response, training, and compliance. This role will develop and implement safety programs across the organization, fostering a culture of safety, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.
In This Role, You Will:
  • Develop a strategic vision and roadmap for safety and security to enhance the safety culture and minimize risk across the organization.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the safety and security team, including setting goals, managing performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of safety and security policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate safety and security risks in operations, facilities, and transportation activities.
  • Lead incident management and investigation processes, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation, to prevent recurrence and minimize the impact of incidents.
  • Monitor and analyze safety and security metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and drive performance enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and law enforcement to stay informed of emerging trends and regulations.
  • Represent the company in safety and security-related matters, including audits, inspections, and industry forums.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in safety management.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Security Management, or related field is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in safety and security leadership roles within the logistics and transportation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety and security regulations, standards, and best practices, including DOT, and OSHA regulations.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety and security programs and initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Desired:
  • Professional certifications in safety and security (e.g., CSP, CPP, CISSP) preferred.

Location: This is an in-office role based in Charlotte, NC.
Approximately 30% travel is anticipated.
