Job Summary and QualificationsThe VP of Quality will be responsible for the administrative and operational oversight of all hospital (enterprise) performance improvement, quality outcomes, risk reduction/mitigation, infection prevention, peer review, patient safety, and regulatory management operations. Additionally, in collaboration with the Quality/Peer Review Committee, Hospital Administration, Medical Executive Committee, and Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for the development of the hospital’s quality and risk management strategy and annual goals.
What you will do in this role:
- You will lead the Quality and Risk Management Department in the development and application of Quality management and risk reduction strategies throughout the hospital.
- Your role assumes responsibility for communication and education regarding quality and risk management activities in the organization, as well as the medical community and governing body, and serves as a resource.
- You will be responsible for and provide direction to the Quality Department, as well as Quality/ Peer Review Committee, Infection Control, Regulatory Readiness, and Patient Safety Committees.
- Your role leads the QM Department within defined financial parameters.
- Your role plans, coordinates and monitors comprehensive Medical Staff QI and Hospital QI programs as indicated.
- You will serve as an organizational resource for QA/QI, performance improvement, and risk reduction information.
- Your role interacts with Executive, Administrative, and Medical Leaders to gain support for QI activities.
- Your role coordinates and directs activities related to the TJC accreditation and continuous readiness, and in collaboration with hospital leadership, ensures that TJC deficiencies are addressed and resolved.
- You will work collaboratively with HCI, legal counsel, and Executive Administration in coordinating and overseeing Risk Management activities.
- You will develop, coordinate, and maintain facility occurrence reporting system and work to expand knowledge of Quality bringing new ideas and concepts to TSSCMC.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current RN state license.
- Previous management experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, Masters Preferred.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) required, Certified Profession in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years health care experience (clinical experience preferred) required.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in clinical risk management preferred.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft computer software, i.e., Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
