Job Description
Please note: This position is for Mountain Health Network and is not a state position.Mountain Health Network (MHN) seeks a Vice President of Oncology Services who is transformative, strategic and relational to lead cancer services into a new era. MHN is the premier integrated healthcare system in the tri-state region of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, headquartered in Huntington, WV. MHN was formed in 2018 by Cabell Huntington Hospital, the primary hospital partner of the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, and St. Mary's Medical Center with the vision to create a world-class health system that delivers compassionate and innovative care enhanced by education, research, and technology. With three acute care hospitals, including Rivers Health, MHN is transforming into an integrated system that brings together the expertise of providers and facilities to serve patients in and beyond the tri-state region. The pace of that transformation continues as MHN enhances its strategic focus on cancer services and looks to become the hub for cancer care in our regional market. MHN's clear and long-standing commitment to providing comprehensive cancer care will become even more evident with the integration of all cancer services and specialists under a single cancer program and with the expansion of our cancer network, transforming cancer care across the region.
Partnering with a physician leader, the Vice President is responsible for building a cohesive vision for cancer services and lead the execution of a well-developed plan to achieve system level goals and objectives. Along with key physician leaders, this person will be the voice and face of the community for Oncology Services and must be able to manage complex relationships and multiple stakeholders. The Vice President will lead the continued integration of cancer under a single cancer program and help position MHN as the premier provider of tertiary cancer services across the region.
The Vice President will have responsibility for planning, directing, and coordinating initiatives around:

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree with commensurate executive level experience; Master's Degree preferred.

Experience
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience with at least five years within cancer services preferred. Experience within a multi-site system and/or academic environment is preferred as well as a working knowledge of healthcare strategy, operations, finance, and physician relations.
  • Experience in Oncology Services strongly preferred as is knowledge of both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Multi-site, matrix experience is critical.
