Position Overview: Surgery Partners is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Integrations to lead our cross-functional team in executing the integration of acquired and de novo facilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex integration projects within the healthcare industry and achieving budgeted synergy expectations. The Vice President of Integrations will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of our current pipeline of facilities while identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities across processes. Additionally, they will be responsible for creating and implementing a playbook for de novo builds and helping to build the integration team and improve the broader cross functional team accountability structures and incentives. The integration function is an increasingly important part of Surgery Partners' strategy as we continue to grow the number and complexity of facilities that we onboard each year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and oversee a cross-functional team responsible for the integration of acquired and de novo facilities. Collaborate with various departments including operations, finance, human resources, compliance, revenue cycle, and IT to ensure seamless integration processes. Hold peer leaders accountable for meeting deadlines and partner expectations.
- Integration Strategy: Develop and implement integration strategies that support the unique needs of newly partnered facilities and align with the company's goals and objectives. Identify key integration processes, milestones, deliverables, and timelines to ensure successful execution.
- Budget Management: Develop a mechanism for tracking integration synergies and manage integration budgets and financial targets to achieve budgeted synergy expectations. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize financial performance during integration processes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders involved in integration projects including functional leaders and partnered facility leaders. Work with Development Team to understand acquisition and de novo pipelines, timing and resource implications for the cross-functional integration teams. Communicate integration progress, challenges, improvement opportuntiies and key milestones to company ELT, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with integration projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Proactively assess integration risks related to operational, financial, legal, and regulatory aspects.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across integration processes and workflows including working with functional team leaders. Identify opportunities to streamline and scale integration activities, enhance efficiency, and optimize resource allocation. Drive organizational change to support integrations.
- Playbook Development: Create and implement a playbook for de novo builds, outlining standardized processes, best practices, and key milestones. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Team Building: Help build the integration team by recruiting, training, and developing team members. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the integration team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare operations, mergers and acquisitions, or integration management.
- Proven track record of successfully leading integration projects within the healthcare industry.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing integration budgets and financial targets.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement integration strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on driving results and achieving desired outcomes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to facilities as needed.
