HSBC's Precious Metals business is a leading market offering within Global Banking and Markets, providing comprehensive physical delivery, custody, bullion banking, financing, and hedging/trading services to Corporate, banking and Institutional clients.
The Precious Metals Trading team is responsible for the pricing and risk management of the Commodities business globally. The Metals Trader will report locally into the Head of Americas Precious Metal trading in New York.
As our Metals Trader you will:
- Effectively maintain various risk positions and manages within position limits, providing liquidity and trade ideas to clients while trading within set limits to help the trading team achieve a given revenue target
- Ensure correct ticket entry and order routing, maintains communication with sales desk and assists in resolving any settlement problems, ensures ticket entry completion and provides general trading activity support, as necessary
- Provide consistent pricing and market making to sales force and target clients
- Execute firm and customers trades in accordance with desk Volcker designation and may contribute to the formulation of trading strategies
- Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
- Provide market analysis and comments related to the metals market and technical analysis specific for each country using market intelligence tools and know how related to each of the products
- Maintain high standards for accountability and global standards, particularly with regards to Financial Crime Compliance
- Ensure all trades are booked to front office position keeping system on the day they are executed correctly with the associated lifecycle management
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $175,000 and $200,000.
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
