WHO YOU ARE:
An experienced HR Leader with the ability to be strategic and tactical. One who excels at building rapport and gaining credibility within an organization and is skilled at labor relations, employee relations, HRIS support, system implementations and has knowledge of the manufacturing environment. The Vice President of Human Resources will support the organization and executive leadership team and must be able to travel as needed for meetings and plant visits.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a member of the Executive team, the Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for providing leadership in developing and executing HR strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, compensation, benefits, and HRIS.
The Vice President of Human Resources is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant Human Resources policies, procedures, best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals that support overall business objectives.
The Vice President of Human Resources is directly responsible for oversight and leadership of the HR departments in the corporate and manufacturing facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organization's short and long-term mission and goals; identify ways to support this mission through talent management and employee experience.
- Oversee the company's recruitment, interview, selection, hiring and onboarding process, and execute best practices for hiring, retention, and talent management.
- Identify key performance indicators for the organization's human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization's success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
- Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the human resource team; assist with resolution of employee relations, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
- Implement and support HR systems and processes to enhance employee experience and company strategic vision.
- Provide direction and oversight to the HR team to ensure adherence to company processes and policies, legal/statutory requirements, and sound HR practices.
- Develop succession planning practices and programs that provide employees at all levels of the organization enhancement opportunities.
- Own and manage the organization's HR budget.
- Act as a strategic HR business partner, providing strategic direction to business leaders to ensure the effectiveness of the organization in achieving business objectives from a people perspective.
- Serve as a confidant, counselor, and coach to the leadership team and be viewed as a change champion by leading and sponsoring programs that encourage flexibility, productivity, and efficiency across the organization.
- Ensure Human Resources processes deliver the business outcome required for the organization.
- Support and drive talent management strategies with business leaders to maximize talent capabilities in support of the organization's growth plans.
- Evaluate and monitor performance management and compensation/benefits practices that fairly and competitively recognize and reward employee contributions to become a "best in class" employer.
- Lead the processes to develop and retain key talent in accordance with business needs.
- Support and enhance management capabilities to lead effectively and facilitate employee engagement.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive human resource management experience.
- Combined HR experience supporting corporate and manufacturing employee populations.
- Experience implementing and supporting HRIS systems.
- Experience directly managing and leading teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Onsite - Overland Park, KS
- Exempt/full-time
- Occasional travel for meetings/Plant visits
- Reports to CEO, manages ~3 directs at various locations
