Veterinary Technician (CVT)

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour depending on experience!

We are seeking a highly motivated animal lover to join our team and provide exceptional care for pets and their owners at Animal Hospital of Millville in Millville, New Jersey! Our AAHA-accredited hospital is passionate about providing high-quality care to cats, dogs, and small exotics. We even have three birds that have permanent residences with us!

Our close-knit team absolutely loves animals! We have a bright facility in the center of the city with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Our staff’s wellbeing is our very top priority, which is why we offer flexible scheduling and a one-hour break in the middle of the day to catch up on paperwork and enjoy an uninterrupted lunch. We are open Monday through Friday, and closed on Saturday and Sundays. Our town is also home to the Motorsports Park which attracts racers, go-carts, vendors, and frequent weekly events!  

Our ideal Veterinary Technician candidate is positive, friendly, and eager to support a team of talented individuals. This person should be familiar with performing routine treatments and procedures, with the interest in learning more advanced procedures from the Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine. Credentialed candidates required – recent Veterinary Technician graduates welcome! 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

o   Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones

o   Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy

o   Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas

o   Perform physical assessments and record your observations

o   Keep furry friends calm and still during procedures (sometimes using chin scratches!)

o   Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients

o   Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions

o   Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered

o   Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids)

o   Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery

REQUIREMENTS 

o   High school diploma or equivalent

o   Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) preferred but not required

o   Prior leadership or management experience required

o   Must have a positive attitude and be a team player

o   Diagnostics (Radiographs, ECG, Blood Pressure, Venipunture)

o   Placing IV Catheters

o   Administering treatments

o   Assisting and monitoring patients during surgery

o   Providing emergency and critical care to patients
