Overview:

We are a fast-paced mid-sized clinic that has been serving the area’s dogs, cats, and other small animals for over 30 years. We are seeking a motivated, experienced individual who is excited to continue in this field. This is a full-time position and you can expect to be scheduled for approximately 35 hours per week.

Hours for this position are:
8:15 am to approximately 6:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
8:15 am to approximately 5:30 pm Friday
7:50 am to approximately 1:30 pm the second and fourth Saturday of the month
The Clinic is closed on Wednesdays and the first, third, and fifth Saturdays of the month.
Experience and Education:
- Candidate must have experience working in a veterinary clinic/hospital
- Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience working in a customer service industry
- Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Position Overview:
The primary role of the Receptionist is to ensure that our clients and patients experience top-notch customer service and excellent patient care, whether in person or over the phone.
Tasks Include:
- Greeting clients with a smile
- Coordinating the flow of pets and clients in the lobby and exam rooms and soothing distressed owners
- Coordinating and scheduling appointments, surgeries, and laboratory work; providing clients with appointment reminders and any special instructions; monitoring the schedule for changes and filling or re-scheduling appointments as needed
- Answering multi-line phones
- Identifying potential emergencies over the phone or in person and scheduling or referring those appointments appropriately
- Accurately processing client transactions
- Responding to inquiries about the range of services the Clinic provides and the species it treats
- Proficiency in a variety of administrative skills including data entry, making postings to accounts, filing, faxing, emailing, and using various office equipment
- Knowledge of small animal practice to include wellness, vaccine schedules, preventative medications, routine lab work, basic veterinary medicine terminology, and the ability to discuss these confidently with clients
- Maintaining a neat and clean facility
- Occasionally helping with holding animals
