THE POSITION

PASADENA HUMANE is currently hiring a Wildlife-Focus Health Technician. We are looking for experienced technicians who learn quickly, have strong interpersonal skills and feel passionate about our mission.

The Health team cares for all the pet animals and wildlife entering our shelter. As a Health Technician you will partner with veterinarians to address the husbandry, medical and behavioral needs of each animal on its rehabilitation journey back to its natural habitat. In addition to partnering with veterinarians, Health Technicians work with multiple other teams, including animal control officers and customer care associates, as well as volunteers, to ensure that animals are triaged and placed on appropriate pathways out of the shelter as expediently as possible.

This position will challenge you to grow nursing skills and develop your project management, communication, and critical thinking skills.

If you are a Registered Veterinary Technician interested in wildlife nursing, high volume high quality spay neuter, or shelter medicine (including behavioral care), this position will give you the opportunity to expand your skills in these specialty areas.

As a Wildlife-Focus Health Technician, you will share your expertise with wildlife for the benefit of human and non-human animals in the community and work to advocate for wildlife and healthy ecosystems by assisting with outreach and educational programs such as tabling events, public speaking to all ages, and assisting with our humane exclusion program. In this position you will work with residents to solve wildlife conflict issues and use creative problem-solving skills to find solutions that are humane and effective for both residents and wildlife, offering the community an alternative to conventional pest control.
