Job Description
An opening currently exists for a Vascular Technologist in the Cardiovascular Department. The work hours for this position will be day shift, however, the hours may vary due to the needs of the department. This position will also require weekend and holiday call rotations.
The Vascular Technologist performs specific vascular procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical details. Additionally, the Vascular Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply the prescribed diagnostic imaging equipment for production of high quality images. Additionally, maintains quality control, participates in quality assurance programs for cardiovascular and radiology, and takes responsibility for work area. This position is also responsible for clinical instruction of radiography students completing rotations in the Radiology Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Moves throughout the facility, appropriately assists in emergency drills and performs the physical requirements needed to deliver services as assigned.
- Performs vascular exams under the direction of a physician, and provides quality images.
- Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians and ancillary departments.
- Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure.

- Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient. Includes PSP / family member in explanations/discussions of testing, procedures and discharge instructions when applicable.
