Job Summary
ASI is looking for an energetic and driven senior designer to elevate our user experiences for our global customers, set high design standards, and leverage profound human understanding to deliver extraordinary products.
This multifaceted role is responsible for applying user-centered design principles and techniques in partnership with product management and software delivery teams to inform and improve the user experience of the ASI's command and control platform. Expected to interact with business stakeholders across multiple departments, Product Managers, developers, and QA professionals on the delivery team(s) to develop a shared understanding of the outcomes we strive to achieve for the business and our customers. Your ability to drive the user experiences for our global customers, set high design standards, and leverage profound human understanding will be pivotal to our mission. We are looking for someone who has an infinite curiosity, a fast learner and can provide simple solutions to complex problems in the ever-evolving space of iOT and automation beyond the traditional consumer devices.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Partner with Product Managers and Customers to understand the actual needs to make informed design decisions.
  • Analyze customer requirements and user needs and design intuitive user flow diagrams that integrate seamlessly with our existing digital platform and UX strategy.
  • Translate your ideas into sketches, wireframes, and prototypes for stakeholder and user feedback.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to iterate and refine designs, continuously improving overall user experience.
  • Create high-resolution UI mock-ups consistent with UI guidelines and ASI core value of simplicity.
  • Review the technical feasibility of your designs with software engineers in an effort to create high-quality user interface solutions that meet program timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering to follow through on executing your delivered designs.
  • Contribute to building and promoting the company's UI guidelines and UX design standards.
  • Stay current on UX/UI trends, techniques, and best practices for optimal designs.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in user experience design, computer science, cognitive psychology, human-computer interaction, human factors or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A digital portfolio that showcases a track record of crafting simple UI/UX solutions to complex problems
  • 7+ years of experience in UI/UX Design.
  • Proficiency in UX design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, InVision etc.)
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and software development practices and procedures
  • Experience working in application lifecycle management tools such as JIRA, DevOps, etc
  • The ability to clearly articulate your design decisions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Design experience for mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
  • Experience with applying user experience research data to design decision-making.
  • Experience conducting user experience studies, surveys, and interviews with actual users or proxy users.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives that enhance user experience from conception through innovative design and execution.
