***Primarily remote position, but candidates must be willing and able to attend onsite events and workdays as needed***
The UX Designer shall be responsible for the creation of custom interaction designs and prototypes for enterprise websites and applications. The Sr. UX Designer shall be skilled at translating customer and end-user requirements into creative ideas that achieve strategic solutions. They will advise and assist the Agile Team Lead, Product Owner (PO), and Business Analyst (BA) in identifying requirements that impact users, and formulating data-driven designs in support of end-user needs.
The Sr. UX Designer will create technical wireframes and engaging high-fidelity mockups for use in agile user stories; and will create interactive prototypes that assist in validating design concepts during usability testing. The Sr. UX Designer shall be knowledgeable of current web standards in design and usability as well as the latest industry trends in responsive web design.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translate requirements into wireframes and high-fidelity mockups that incorporate a visual or brand identify and lead to intuitive user experiences.
- Support product vision by conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital products.
- Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions in collaboration with Product Managers and functional SMEs.
- Design inspirational, useful, and usable experiences by placing the client first while balancing business needs.
- Collaborate with UX Researchers to uncover user problems and to test concepts.
- Collaborate with other UX Designers to inform best-in-class UI designs.
- Analyze data and client feedback in order to make critical design decisions.
- Utilize expert understanding of the latest technology and devices to produce technically achievable, scalable and efficient solutions.
- Expertly present and “pitch” design solutions to senior management, project teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure the success of the strategy and to champion the best possible user experience.
- Make strategic design decisions related to existing and new functionality.
- Communicate scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models, and screen designs to developers, business analysts, and other team members working on the product.
- Consider existing applications (competitive solutions and relevant design analogues) and evaluating their UX (user experience) effectiveness.
- Help define interaction models, user task flows, and UI (user interface) specifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Expertise in UI/UX design software such as Figma, Axure, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Expert knowledge in user-centered design principles, information architecture, prototyping, systems design, and interaction design.
- Design and deliver experiences optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
- High degree of creativity, empathy, passion, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to employ design thinking methodologies to address complex problems.
- Ability to apply information architecture principles to user experience problems.
- Deep understanding of responsive design and techniques.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to team members, customers, vendors and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to help teammates, share knowledge with them, and learn from them.
- Open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
- Passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation.
- Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.
- Basic knowledge of Bootstrap component library, Sharepoint, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and .Net front-end development is a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) or more years of experience in UX Design
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Information Management, Usability, Human Computer Interaction preferred
- Recent, relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of education; determined on case by case basis
