The UX/UI Designer helps shape and mold products at DI. The creative professional will be developing designs and experiences for a web platform. This position will favor someone with a strong Front-End/UX design skillset. You will be using a design system to create flowcharts, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups. You will be responsible for the design from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
- Create wireframes, designs and prototypes for web, with possibility of mobile or desktop, to include spaces of all shapes and sizes.
- Map out user flows and information architecture.
- Utilize user research as an input to the design process
- Launch your ideas, which means working from kickoff through development and getting sign-off along the way (e.g. final wires and flows, specs, use cases, etc).
- Prototype your ideas – whether high or low fidelity using the Adobe Suite, AdobeXd or Figma.
- Work closely with Project Managers and the Development team to craft and iterate on project needs and goals.
- Define problems and opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 2-3 years demonstrated experience: UX designer, interactive designer, front-end designer, or equivalent.
- Must be able to work with users to establish workflows
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance
- Have a diverse portfolio and the ability to work in a variety of styles and media
- Examples of highly detailed wireframes and designs.
- Ability to use and participate shaping a design system.
- An excellent understanding of typography
- Proficient using various design tools (ex: Adobe Creative Suite, AdobeXD or Figma).
- Ability to communicate and work as part of a team, as well as independently.
- Self-starter with excellent time-management skills and the ability to meet challenging deadlines.
- Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Deductive reasoning, listening, flexibility, and critical thinking skills and the ability to predict problems before they occur.
- Ability to easily adapt and learn new things, whether it’s a new prototyping tool, design process, or business process.
PLUSES:
- Knowledge of CSS/SCSS or Javascript.
- Knowledge of Google Design Sprints
- Knowledge of agile software development.
- Fine arts background.
- Ability to travel frequently to Northern Virginia or relocate
