Formed in 1993, CFAN is a 50/50 Joint Venture between GE Aviation & Safran Aircraft Engines of France. The partnership was created to introduce composite fan blades in a GE90 Engine that powers the Boeing 777. It has leveraged the success of this product to introduce additional fan blades on the GEnx Engines that power the Boeing 787 and Boeing 747-8.
CFAN has become a leader in advanced composite technology through the use of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. With close tohalf of its engineering personnel graduating from Texas State University, CFAN relies on this relationship to keep bringing technological breakthroughs in the manufacturing of composite fan blades.

The Utility Facility Engineer will directly report to the EHS/Maintenance Facility Leader and be responsible to oversee and coordinate installation and maintenance of water distribution, electrical, plumbing, ventilation, refrigeration, vacuum, compressed air, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and other building systems within our facility. They will perform systems evaluations and determine what installation or repair services need to be performed, aid in management of a budget, and create calculations to ensure operational efficiencies. They will assist in training of team members.
Essential Functions:
Develop and maintain a plant site 5-year equipment replacement /long-term facilities plan for all utilities
Prepares facilities operating / capital budgets in accordance with production forecast and Plant objectives
Develop a reliability program for utilities and critical building systems including Water Systems, , electrical (power), plumbing, ventilation, refrigeration, vacuum, Compressed Air Systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), Chilled Water Systems & Building Management Systems, etc.
Develop a set of key performance indicators for utilities functions and energy use
Provide engineering support to operations and maintenance teams 24/7 on Utilities equipment and systems
Ensure minimum equipment downtime through preventative and predictive maintenance post operations
Support site safety and training initiatives
Maintain utility maintenance job procedures, participate in RCA incident investigations
Develop and maintain relationships with contractors and stake holders and serve as the point of contact
Develop, review and upgrade utilities area operating procedures
Provide sound technical leadership & Use data analysis and data-based decision making
Schedules and coordinates adequate coverage for the department, depending on the business needs
Lead and Complete Root Cause Analysis as required and develop Corrective Action and Preventative Action plans to prevent future occurrences and prepare relevant reports
Review and maintain maintenance logs and assist with maintenance budgets, and complete any and all documentation necessary to the completion of a task
Designing and overseeing the implementation of facility expansion, layout, various systems, quality controls & closed loop control/monitoring systems.
Read blueprints and plan projects to complete assigned tasks, and coordinate and follow up on incidental work
Use Building Management System to ensure that equipment failures, performance or other issues are responded to promptly and appropriately
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards
Initiate environmental/sustainability initiatives towards energy savings
Must have excellent project management skills and strong knowledge of structural code requirements
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
3-5 years of experience as an Utilities Infrastructure Engineer /Industrial engineer
Experience with AutoCAD, and MS Office (project or similar).
Knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Decision making based on Data analysis
Project management skills.
Strong analytical skills and proven organizational ability and attention to detail is a must
Must be a self-starter, proactive, flexible, and deadline-focused
Vendor management experience.
Ability to prepare engineering specifications, statements of work, and estimates for facility related projects.
Knowledge of architectural designs, building codes, construction/project
Organized and capable of managing tasks on multiple, concurrent projects
Management skills with experience managing contractors and driving results during project execution
Hands-on experience in equipment upgrades and integration of new technology to improve plant facilities
Team player with the ability to create and foster cross functional relationships both internally and externally
Ability to effectively communicate technical information in a clear, concise manner
Physical Demands:
Employee must be able to support shop floor and equipment needs, which will require standing for long periods, walking, use of hands, extend/reach with hands and arms, crawl, bend climb and safely lift 40 lbs. Must be able to operate a variety of lift types and work up to heights of 40’.
