What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer for our facilities team at Tesla Giga Texas. This role will support commissioning, startup, operations, and maintenance of facilities systems on site. Come and join us to help accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy!
What You’ll Do
- Develop commissioning, startup, and operations plans for mechanical systems (HVAC, dry air, gas/chemical, hydronic, etc.)
- Lead field execution during commissioning and troubleshooting of facility system operational issues using first principles
- Create and modify maintenance and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train personnel on new systems and proper operations
- Interface heavily with design and installation teams to assure quality system delivery
- Understand and apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts and root cause failure analysis to open-ended problems
- Identify and implement improvement projects to increase facility system reliability and efficiency
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Intermediate knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles and systems including pumps, pneumatics, fans, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water, heating, process piping, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, and heat transfer
- Strong troubleshooting background and issue resolution
- Strong data and system analysis
- System commissioning and startup experience a plus
