Job Description
The Iowa Utilities Board is seeking a Utility Analyst 2 in order to fill a permanent, full-time, contract-covered position in the Regulatory Analysis Bureau.
The successful candidate will support the Board and staff by researching and analyzing filings, testimony, data, and exhibits submitted by utility companies and stakeholders in content areas that include, but are not limited to, natural gas, electric, telecommunications, water, and renewable energy.
The candidate must have the ability to research, summarize, and communicate complex, technical information both orally and in writing to the Board, staff, public, special interest groups, and public utility staff. The employee will research, analyze and review for completeness, accuracy of calculations, and compliance with applicable statutes, policies, procedures, and precedent before summarizing findings and providing objective recommendations.
The position requires the candidate to work, build, and foster relationships with the Board members, agency staff, stakeholders, customers, peers, and others who interact with the Iowa Utilities Board. The position will involve occasional travel with some overnight stays.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelors degree in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, operations research, computer science, environmental science, statistics or paralegal/legal assistant and 18 months of analytical experience in one or a combination of the above disciplines;

Additional Qualification Requirements
Incumbents in many of these positions will be required to travel and stay out overnight. Incumbents will be required to make arrangements on their own regarding transportation to and from assigned work areas. Some out of state travel may be required as assigned by the agency of employment. Selected positions may require incumbents to provide their own means of transportation in order to conduct state business.
