Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Utilities Operator to join our team. As a Utilities Operator, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of various utility systems, including plant steam boilers, chillers, cooling towers, emergency generators, and process gas equipment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous and reliable supply of utilities to support our facility's operations.
Responsibilities:
•Operate and Monitor Equipment: Efficiently operate and monitor plant steam boilers, chillers, cooling towers, emergency generators, and process gas equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
•Routine Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of utility systems, identifying and addressing any abnormalities or potential issues promptly. Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment longevity.
•Troubleshooting: Respond to alarms and equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain system integrity.
•Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to utility operations.
•Emergency Response: Act quickly and decisively in emergency situations, following established protocols to address and resolve utility system issues. Collaborate with other team members to ensure a coordinated response.
•Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and any incidents. Provide regular reports to management on system status and performance.
•Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including maintenance, engineering, and production, to coordinate activities and support overall plant operations.
•Training and Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to utility operations.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field is preferred.
•Proven experience in operating and maintaining utility systems, including steam boilers, chillers, cooling towers, generators, and process gas equipment.
•Strong understanding of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
•Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
•Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and other departments.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Basic computer skills for data entry and system monitoring.
Compensation: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
