Job Description
Position Summary: The Uplifting Parents Director position is to provide services in the Uplifting Parents Program of Catholic Social Services in adherence to the mission statement of the agency.
Major Tasks
- Oversee the planning, direction, budget and successful implementation of the Uplifting Parents Program.
Requirements of the Position
- Master’s Degree preferred, bachelors with administrative experience.
- If masters prepared, we would encourage you to work towards your full licensure.
- If a CSW-PIP, may be asked to provide supervision to CSW staff.
- Has a basic understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and demonstrates a willingness to live a personal and professional life in accordance with this teaching.
- Adherence to your profession’s code of ethics.
- Adherence to the CSS Code of Ethics.
Administration
- Meet regularly (as assigned) for supervision with the Executive Director to consider program needs, and to update on activities and needs in the program.
- Oversee the Uplifting Parents Coalition, and plan and run UP Coalition meetings.
- Work with the communication department and other department heads to develop a communication plan for the Uplifting Parents Program.
- Ensure any ongoing program evaluation or research efforts are being met,
- Establish policies or procedures related to the Uplifting Parents Program.
- Ensure any requirements from funders are being met, reports are written and keep in communication with those funders.
- Assist in the development of funding and resources needed for the implementation of the Uplifting Parents Program.
- Participates in department head meetings, social media meetings, staff meetings, and in-service training.
- Assist the executive director with the recruitment, selection and retention of staff to work in the program.
- Oversees the recruitment efforts.
Supervision
- Provide supervision and evaluation to the Uplifting Parents Mentors
- Oversee and coordinate the training of the Uplifting Parents team as a whole.
- See to it that client records meet standards within the Uplifting Parents Program.
- Oversee the application, interview, and selection of Uplifting Parents participants.
- Conduct weekly supervision as required by licensing standards and/or as needed to keep Uplifting Parents Team aware of activities within the department.
- Works with staff to see that approximately 50% of mentor’s time is spent providing direct services to clients.
Case Work
- Provide mentoring and case management services to Uplifting Parents participants.
- Provide outreach to community partners informing them of the Uplifting Parents Program and encourage ongoing recruitment for participant applications.
- Actively remain aware of resources that are beneficial to families living in poverty and the unique barriers faced with lower income families in Rapid City.
- To be aware of the Prosperity Initiative Program and continually collaborate with their program staff and work towards mutually beneficial goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Relationship
- Reports to the Executive Director of CSS.
- Needs to maintain effective working relationship with co-workers, other social service agencies, Catholic Diocese, parishes, schools, United Way, and other nonprofit agencies.
