Description
SAIC is seeking an engineering intern to support the development of Unity and Unreal based virtual reality applications who is able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. The applications include flight simulation as well as other virtual military operations for the United States Air Force. Specifically, the role involves creating dynamic visual effects in a virtual reality environment simulating the dazzling effects of visible laser exposure.
The applicant will support a range of virtual reality applications intended to demonstrate the visual effects of laser radiation during military operations with and without protective filters. The goal is to develop virtual reality scenarios to provide familiarization, training, and performance assessment for military personnel in the presence of laser threats.
Qualifications
- High School and two (2) or more years of college coursework in a technical field
- Candidate should be currently enrolled in an Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science (B.S. or M.S.) degree at an accredited institution of higher learning with at least two or more years college coursework, and have the following capabilities:
- Experience with computer game development using Unity or Unreal game engine
- Experience with computer programming languages C++ or C#
- Must be self-motivated, possess a willingness to learn new skills independently, work as part of a team, and be comfortable following directions
- US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
