The Unit Supervisor is responsible to ensure overall quality programming on the assigned unit by leading and directing the unit's associates to provide intense supervision and direction to emotionally and behaviorally challenged adolescents in a compassionate and respectful manner. This responsibility includes keeping unit staff and clients aware of agency and departmental guidelines, policies and procedures, as well as supervising the overall function of the unit.
The Unit Supervisor will monitor unit associates' performance, unit dynamics, and take appropriate, immediate action to any emergencies that may occur. The Unit Supervisor ensures active participation of each YDS associate, to provide intense supervision and direction to emotionally and behaviorally challenged adolescents in a compassionate and respectful manner. Responsibilities also include building trusting and supportive relationships with all clients and associates to effectively implement individualized services and unit programming. This position is not counted in the staffing ratio except in unplanned instances related to emergencies or staff coverage/ratio issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree (or equivalent education/experience) in a mental health or related field.
Minimum two years' experience working with acute emotionally and behaviorally challenged children or adolescents.
Valid Driver's License required and must be at least 21 years of age.
