The Unit Coordinator provides clerical support to the patient care units.Under the supervision of Charge Nurse, this position provides clerical support as part of a customer focused, service oriented team that incorporates the values of Eden Medical Center in a confidential environment. The Unit Coordinator role will champion and role model service standards of behavior while on duty or representing Eden Medical Center. Utilize the AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation and Thank you) model. Accountable for compliance with all regulatory standards.
Job Description:
Customer Care
- a. Use of EPIC documentation system for patient data entry and scheduling procedures for OB patients (NSTs, C-sections, Inductions)
- b. Filing, faxing and copying is completed within timeframe requested or prioritized with the Manager.
- c. Manages all work processes to ensure successful implementation by considering time frames, supplies and support functions required in completing duties.
Communication
- a. Handles phone calls with courtesy and respect for confidentiality.
- b. Maintains effective communication with the physician and health team members. Relates with patients, public and team members in a manner conducive to a harmonious working environment in which patient centered goals are achieved.
Customer Satisfaction
- a. Communicates clearly and tactfully with patients and their families.
- b. Assists in achieving and maintaining positive patient satisfaction survey results.
- c. Prioritizes work and provides prompt and efficient service.
EDUCATION
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- Associate's
- Other: Medical Terminology
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
- 2 years’ secretarial experience in a health care setting.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Kronos editing and creation of reports
- Ansos editing and creation of reports
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
- Possesses strong working knowledge of medical terminology
- Computer keyboarding and computer skills; ability to use office equipment
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills

Pay Range is $28.11 to $35.60 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
