The Power and Renewable Energy group within First Citizens Bank is hiring an Underwriting Analyst to participate in the Commercial Bank Analyst Development Program.
About the Analyst Development Program
As an Analyst you will participate in the Commercial Bank Analyst Development Program which is designed to build a broad and deep technical skillset through formal classes, online coursework, and on the job training.
The program begins on-site at our New York City Office with a 6-week intensive curriculum where participants learn about:
- Credit Policies and Procedures
- Underwriting fundamentals
- Financial Analysis and Excel Modeling
- First Citizens Bank Core Values
- Application-specific training on systems
- Business unit overviews with team leaders
- Strategic priorities of the Bank
About the Power and Renewable Energy Team
The Power and Renewable Energy Group lends money to finance US renewable projects using technologies such as solar, wind, and battery storage. The group arranged over $1 billion in debt financing in 2022 and consistently ranks among the top banks in leading financings for US Power and Renewables projects. In 2020, it was named Renewable Energy Lead Arranger of the year by Power Finance & Risk, a top publication covering the energy project finance industry.
The pay for this position is $90,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Responsibilities
- Financial modeling in excel of solar, wind, and battery storage projects
- Due diligence of projects including reviewing engineering, market, insurance and transmission studies
- Preparation of internal credit memorandum
- Preparation of marketing materials for potential clients and other lenders
- Staying up to date with industry trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree upon the start of the program (7/8/2024)
- 3.0 GPA
Preferred:
- 3.5 GPA or higher
- Previous internship experience in an analytical role at a bank or energy company
- Major in a quantitative field including finance, accounting or economics
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to problem solve
