The E&S Casualty division of Everest Group, Ltd. ('Everest' or 'the Group') is looking for an E&S Underwriter to join our Philadelphia office. This role will be responsible for new business wholesale production underwriting of middle to large market sized E&S Casualty business for General Liability, Automobile and Workers Compensation lines of business.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize underwriting tools and resources to evaluate risks on new business prospects, makes decisions to quote or decline to quote, and develop premiums in accordance with underwriting guidelines and authority limits.
- Provide detailed quotes including all terms and conditions in accordance with compliance dept. requirements
- Maintain detailed underwriting files, worksheets and documentation supporting the underwriting decision and pricing though process.
- Processes bound accounts following established procedures
- Services their existing book of business to ensure timely responses to broker endorsement requests and other services issues.
- Manages new business to balance profitability and growth.
- Develops and maintains relationships with brokers to support production and marketing goals
- Understand market and industry trends, loss development, and proper risk classification
- Assist management with training, mentoring and development of other underwriters on the team Underwrite select renewal accounts to renewal retention to department standards
- Adhering to underwriting guidelines and referral processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and (insurance certifications are a bonus)
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Casualty Underwriter, General Liability-focused, with a skill in the Construction and Products Liability segment; expertise in an additional GL segment is a plus.
- Knowledge of Automobile and Workers Compensation lines
