Senior Underwriter | Contract Binding

IAT Insurance Group has an opportunity for a Senior Production Underwriter to join our Contract Binding team to achieve profitable growth within the company's risk profile while maintaining an acceptable loss ratio with our delegated authority wholesale agents.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as a commercial P&C underwriter managing (growing) a book of at least $5-10 million in written premium. Excess and Surplus Lines experience is highly preferred.
The role will work a hybrid schedule from an IAT’s office in:

• Alpharetta, GA,
• Cheshire, CT,
• Jersey City or Newark, NJ
• Naperville or Rolling Meadows, IL
• Norristown, PA
• Richmond, VA
• Sarasota, FL

Other locations will be considered for highly qualified candidates. Occasional travel may be required. This role will be required to work from an IAT office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.
Responsibilities:

• Evaluates information to determine risk acceptability in accordance with company guidelines.
• Makes appropriate decisions based on the evaluation of underwriting information.
• Effectively communicates and negotiates underwriting and pricing decisions to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Documents decisions in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Acts with a sense of urgency on all inquiries/requests.
• Provides outstanding customer service.
• Underwrites a moderate book of business with a moderate to complex risk profile.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years’ of relevant commercial Property and Casualty underwriting experience or equivalent. 
• Equivalent is defined as 9 years’ experience as a P&C Underwriter is considered equivalent experience. 
• Must have the ability to react and respond quickly and professionally.
• Must provide creative, analytical, and innovative thinking to inure to productive problem-solving.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require now, or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes.

Preferred to Have:

• Excess and Surplus Lines experience is highly preferred

Compensation:
Please note, that the annual gross salary range associated with this posting is ($75,000 – $108,00).  This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position.  Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. IAT offers a total compensation package. Total Compensation includes a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.
