Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and passionate individuals to join our Summer Internship Program! As an intern at Kite, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn about cell therapy from some of the brightest minds in biotech while making a meaningful impact. We're committed to developing early talent, and we welcome motivated individuals with a passion for transforming the way cancer is treated. The program also offers the opportunity for networking within Kite and Gilead, social events with fellow interns and Kite leadership as well as career development trainings for eligible candidates.
The Role:
Will support the creation and implementation of data visualization tools to support the Kite project portfolio. This will involve reviewing clinical trial data, analyzing cycle time metrics, and developing a process to display the data for development leadership and key stakeholders. Must display strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and adaptable to a dynamic environment.

The expected hourly range for this position is $19.00 - $55.00.
Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including education level and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.

The Role:
Will support the creation and implementation of data visualization tools to support the Kite project portfolio. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Data Collection: Gathering and compiling data from various sources, i.e.-stakeholder interviews, summarizing and collating interview information
- Data Analysis and interpretation: Applying statistical and analytical techniques to extract insights and providing actionable recommendations based on analysis, i.e.-analyze clinical trial cycle time metrics for key deliverables
- Data Visualization: Creating charts and graphs using data visualization tools to display findings, i.e.-clinical trial cycle time metrics
- Coding: Writing, debugging, and maintaining code in programming languages for data manipulation and analysis
- Database Management: Knowledge of working with databases and query languages for data retrieval
Basic Qualifications for Undergraduate Intern:
- Be at least 18 years or older
- A minimum GPA of 2.8
- Eligible to work in the United States without work authorization sponsorship now or in the future
- Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree program at an accredited U.S. based university/college
- Completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing
- Enrolled full-time in the Fall Semester at an accredited U.S. based university/college after the completion of the internship - with earliest graduation date of December 2024 or Spring/Summer 2025
- Able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between May and August
- Able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship
- Not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in bachelor's degree with emphasis in Data Science (science or business minor preferred)
- A GPA of 3.3 or higher is preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, data visualization software (Spotfire, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, QuickSight) and data transformation tools (Alteryx, Informatica, AWS)
- Proficient in programming languages, such as, python, R, Java, C++ and SQL
- Ability to identify issues and seek solutions
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively/Ability to work in collaborate in cross functional teams in fast pace, dynamic team setting
- Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience and/or interest in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or health-care industry
- Knowledge and understanding of drug development highly desirable
