Job description

To be eligible for PGE's Internship program, you must be at least 18 years old and have met one of the following criteria:
A high school senior that has enrolled in a college or trade school
A current college or trade school student who is returning to college or a trade school as a full-time student
A recent 2022-2023 college graduate
You must provide verification of your student status by submitting your college transcript (an unofficial one is acceptable) or letter of acceptance to a college or trade school with your online application. You will have the opportunity to upload your documents during the online application process.

Job Function
Provides support in one or more engineering disciplines. We are looking for 2 Interns, 1 studying Electrical Engineering and 1 studying Mechanical Engineering. Both will support projects at the Plant
Key Job Information
Undergraduate Engineering Intern: May spend a portion of time performing the work supervised. Responsible for results of the team. Works within established precedents and practices. Analyzes information to solve on-going problems.
Key Responsibilities
Departmental Support Applies engineering knowledge and gains experience in live application to design; applies engineering skills to appropriately design products in day-to-day tasks; depending on the area of specialization, may perform administrative, technical, or scientific tasks, such as collecting samples or completing spreadsheets, in support of department assigned.
Research and Analysis May perform research and analysis under general supervision. May gather qualitative or quantitative data and develop reports or spreadsheets.
Internship Program Events May participate in company-sponsored internship activities.
Daily Responsibilities

  • Lead job plan development for steam valves.
  • Walkdown and revise electrical one lines.
  • Looking for a clear understanding of Mechanical & Electrical Theory/Aptitude.
  • Assist in sorting, scanning, and documenting.
  • Assisting in administrative tasks.
  • Review and update plant procedures (electrical & mechanical).
  • Planning and assisting in the organization as required of current warehouse layout and assisting in the implementation of documentation logs and process rollout.

Education/Experience/Certifications
  • Currently an actively enrolled undergraduate student (recent graduate or GED accepted) in good standing and be pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering (or be enrolled in a pre-engineering program).
  • GPA of 2.5 or higher preferred.
  • Some prior volunteer or work experience preferred.
  • Requires a valid Drivers License with a history of safe driving practices.

Physical Capabilities
  • Driving/travel/commute: Daily within the service territory
  • Computer use (use a computer regularly for the entire work shift)
  • Lifting/pushing/pulling: Up to 10 lbs.
  • Carrying: Up to 10 lbs.
  • Unstable surfaces requiring balance (i.e., moving equipment, boats) (check all that apply)
    • Walking distances and surfaces (long distances and over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces)
    • Stairs (over 10 steps)

Compensation Range:
$16.00 - $36.00
Actual total compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and education.
