Let's do this. Let's change the world. The use of Biomarkers and Diagnostics is central to understanding how our therapeutics work and identifying patients that benefit most from these therapies. Accordingly, the Clinical Biomarkers & Diagnostics (CBD) function plays a critical role in advancing our drug development programs and is accountable for the development of biomarker and Diagnostics strategy across our pipeline. The Translational Pathology group within CBD is responsible for implementing the biomarker and Diagnostics strategy.
The summer intern will work within the Translational Pathology group to implement image analysis algorithms on whole slide scans of tumor tissue for biomarker characterization. The biomarkers may be pharmacodynamic or potential selection markers that are relevant to specific therapeutics.

Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an Undergrad Internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
- 18 years or older
- Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
- Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
- Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
- Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
- Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship OR co-op
- Degree concentration in Biological Sciences
- Working knowledge of basic histology
- Knowledge of immunohistochemistry techniques
- Some programming experience in modern data science languages (R/Python/Julia/similar) is preferred but not required
- Experience with image analysis is preferred but not required

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $24.70 - $28.30.
