Duties
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients using specialized equipment and techniques
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and answering any questions they may have
- Position patients and equipment to obtain high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists or physicians
- Analyze images and data to ensure optimal diagnostic quality and accuracy
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to determine appropriate imaging protocols and procedures
- Maintain patient records and ensure proper documentation of procedures performed
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure the well-being of patients and staff
Skills
- Proficient in sonography techniques and equipment operation
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Familiarity with various medical imaging modalities, including X-Ray, PET scan, and mammography
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and interpret imaging results accurately
- Experience working in an emergency room (ER) setting is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members
