POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Director position is a comprehensive and strategic role which aligns seamlessly with UAII's overarching mission and goals. This position leads and directs the IT strategy, infrastructure, and systems for the organization. Additionally, the IT Director oversees the day-to-day IT operations and plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, and ensuring compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with UAII's mission and objectives.
- Review and update the reporting structure of the IT department to support current and future initiatives.
- Re-evaluate department structure and division of job duties as business demands and priorities change.
- Implement data strategy, ensuring backup of key systems and data while utilizing a robust inventory management and monitoring solution.
- Develop and document key systems to include a review and update of department and organization-wide IT policy and procedures.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to enhance organizational efficiency.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of UAII's IT infrastructure.
- Manage network architecture, servers, and hardware to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Review and enhance UAII's anti-malware solution to include endpoint detection and remediation (EDR) software.
- Partner with the UAII executive team to select and implement EMR/EHR/practice management solutions.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to optimize technology services.
- Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect UAII's information systems and sensitive data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and FQHC requirements.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
- Lead the development and maintenance of UAII's information systems and databases.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify technology needs and implement solutions.
- Ensure the availability and functionality of key applications.
- Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Attend departmental and relevant agency meetings as requested/required.
- Other duties as assigned or required to fulfill the purpose of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications:
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience; specifically in IT senior leadership roles, preferably within the healthcare or non-profit sector.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare IT regulations and compliance (HIPAA, FQHC requirements).
- Proven experience in strategic planning, budget management, and team leadership.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare information exchange (HIE) protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Relevant Certifications:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Certifications:
- Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS)
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS)
Confidentiality:
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client and personnel information adhering to HIPAA, professional codes of conduct, State of CA regulations, Privacy Act, and policies and procedures
- This position has access to sensitive information, and a breach in confidentiality will be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including immediate termination

Technology Skills:
- Knowledge and prior use of various systems relevant to a non-profit organization, including and not limited to EHR clinic software, accounting software, HRIS, IT administration management software, etc.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of Google Suite (Mail, Calendar, Drive)
- Working knowledge of virtual video platforms (Zoom, Google Meets)
