FHI 360 is seeking a technical expert who sets the technical design and direction for a potential global USAID project aimed to scale up and improve management of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (DR TB) in USAID supported countries. The Technical Director will establish and continually refine technical TB DR strategies, frameworks, approaches, tools, and activities to expand access to high quality DR TB treatment services. They will ensure timely, responsive, and effective technical assistance is delivered to priority countries to enhance the quality of DR-TB program at the country level.
The Technical Director will build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders and the program team in the design, integration and implementation of DR-TB activities based upon best practices, international evidence and USAID, WHO, and/or country-specific strategies and objectives. They will identify specialized partnership needs, engage sub-partners and resource partners to ensure high quality technical performance. The Technical Director monitors all technical aspects of the project from initiation through delivery and will ensure completion of project technical deliverables are on schedule and within budget constraints. They will select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure technical objectives are met. Contributes project experience and learning to global thought leadership initiatives in the area of DR TB.

Technical Requirements
Works on problems that are routine in nature and are standard procedures and policies.

Responsible for planning and scheduling own workflow and timetables, within technical area and function guidelines
Strategic focus for all projects independent of degree of complexity
Considered a technical expert in their field by internal and external entities
Participates in workshops, task force groups and expert committees to identify policy, technical and programmatic gaps along the DR TB cascade.
Provide technical support in developing systems, tools, job aids, and IEC materials as required for improving diagnosis and treatment of DR TB services, infection prevention, monitoring and supervision.
Creates local, national, and / or regional guidelines and normative policies for subject matter areas of expertise
Interprets findings and makes recommendations for improvements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Project Design Implementation
Oversees the creation of the technical portion of the project plan of a complex project or multiple projects, within the given resource and financial constraints
Communicates the planned budget to project financial roles
Provide technical leadership in design, development, planning, implementation; and capacity- building of specific technical components of projects
Provides broad global technical leadership to multiple components of the global project with broad scope
Enables and empowers innovation by encouraging the identification, generation and circulation of ideas, approaches, solutions and collaborations towards quality person-centered DR TB care.
Influences design and scope of initiatives and projects
Ensures technical implementation is consistent with best practices in the industry / subject and meet client / funder contractual obligations for one or more large, highly complex technical units of a functional domain
