General description
Join the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company as a Law Clerk Intern! Work involves providing support to the legal team on a variety of routine and complex legal matters, including working with assigned counsel and TTSTC staff to assist in developing and implementing various organizational objectives and initiatives. Student intern will engage in work activities under the direction and mentoring of the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company Legal Division.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Must be currently enrolled in and actively attending an accredited law school seeking J.D. degree.
- None to Two (2) years' experience in legal research, writing and analysis.
In this role you will:
- Analyze newly promulgated or pending legislation
- Provide support to the legal team in drafting, revising, and finalizing a wide range of documents related to the day-to-day operations of TTSTC
- Assist with matters of investment management and divestment
- Assist with compliance testing and reporting
- Draft, review and revise internal policies, rules, and other TTSTC operational documents
- Draft, review and track contracts and requests for proposals relating to TTSTC administration and coordinates with Comptroller's office.
- Perform basic clerical duties such as taking calls and arranging meetings
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Administrative law is a plus
- Conduct research and analysis
- Read and interpret laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Use a personal computer in a Windows environment and with Microsoft software and mainframe functions
