This position sits within the IRC headquarters Resettlement Team. The Program Officer's primary responsibilities will focus on training and technical assistance to enhance Intensive Case Management (ICM) and other Preferred Communities (PC) program activities funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). In concert with the HQ Preferred Communities Team, the Program Officer will implement IRC's PC training program with particular attention to achieving local staff and partner knowledge and capacity. The main objective of this position is to work in partnership with local IRC field offices to ensure staff have the knowledge and skills to deliver high quality PC services. The Program Officer, Training reports to the Deputy Director, Intensive Case Management within the Resettlement, Asylum and Integration Department in the US.
Major Responsibilities:
- Train local ICM staff remotely on program services service delivery and documentation requirements.
- Manage, develop, and design e-learning modules for field offices and provide additional interactive training via webinars and other learning opportunities.
- Manage the PC intranet pages (RescueNet) to ensure field resources are easy to locate and up to date.
- Track PC training activities and maintain/update associated protocols.
- Coordinate content and guest presenters for PC Monthly Calls and other network-wide trainings.
- In coordination with the Program Manager, manage schedules, logistics and budget for meetings and trainings.
- Adjust training content based on an analysis of monitoring findings and community service provider trends.
- Conduct client casefile review and client interviews for internal program monitoring visits.
- Write clear, concise activity reports for the funder and contribute to headquarters monitoring activities and reports.

Requirements:
Successful candidates must possess knowledge of resettlement programming with experience working on the Afghan emergency response a plus. This position requires a diverse skill set including training, monitoring and strong communication skills. Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment with ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
Preferred experience & skills:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in Social Work, International Affairs, or related field a plus.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience, including work in the U.S. refugee program in the U.S.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as, an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time.
- Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional global team structure.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage and work through change in a proactive and positive manner.
Working Environment:
- Standard office working environment.
- This role may require working remotely full or part time and part time remote employees may be required to share workspace.
