Is responsible for directing company wide program of total quality management using recognized standards (ISO 9000, TS 16949) as a basis for system performance, and direct the activities for technical customer service provided by the Service Engineering department.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Represents management in efforts toward quality certification implementation and maintenance.
2. Directs the implementation, operation, maintenance, and improvements of quality systems to meet the requirements chosen by the company.
3. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, and sales functions to ensure customer-oriented quality focus.
4. Integrates quality considerations into the business planning process to support corporate objectives.
5. Maintains awareness of current issues, trends, and industry standards in quality management through professional organizations such as ASQC, on-the-job training, and other education.
6. Promotes the company's leadership position in product and service quality and customer satisfaction.
7. Interacts frequently with customers to ensure products and services meet the highest requirements, and customer requirements and expectations are conveyed throughout the internal organization.
8. Directs the activities of the Service Engineering department to address customer complaints and service issues.
9. Communicates customer product/service concerns to senior staff.
10. Maintains up-to-date awareness of filters applications and trends.
11. Represents company position in claims and suits that require claim/legal action.
12. Prepares technical literature regarding products.
13. Provides technical support for customer visits, sales calls, etc.
14. Implements processes to improve work flow and ability of department to address customer requests.
15. Participates in trade organizations such as Filter Manufacturers Council, The Maintenance Council, etc.
16. Prepares and submits operating budget and controls department to operate within approved budget.
17. Is responsible for the proper application of established department employee relations, policies, wage and salary adjustments, administration policies, and safety and health regulations.
18. Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.
