The primary purpose/responsibility of the Triage Call Specialist is to assist the medical negligence group by taking calls from potential clients and gathering the pertinent information regarding the potential claim.

Robins Kaplan LLP offers employees the benefit of flexible work schedules. This position is 100% remote, but must reside in Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Professionally answer phone calls from potential clients to the firm.
- Take down (type) pertinent information from potential client, including when and where the alleged injury occurred, and type of injury. When necessary, contact a Medical Analyst to take over the call if the call appears to involve significant injury or death.
- Meet with a Medical Analyst or attorney for further review and potential follow-up.
- Process messages promptly and accurately.
- Draft deferral letters for LNC and/or attorney approval.
- Ensure client confidentiality and professional treatment of client or potential client information at all times.
KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability and willingness to consistently deliver top level customer service.
- Outstanding communication/interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively operate computer software (i.e., File Site, WordPerfect) to deliver e-mail messages.
- Portray a professional manner.
- Ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Ability to regularly work scheduled hours.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous medical or medical/legal or paralegal experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION
Work is performed in a professional office environment and requires the following during the work day:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (working at a computer)
- Ability to move/traverse about inside the office intermittently throughout the day (attend meetings, access file cabinets, obtain supplies from supply room, etc.)
- Operate computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, telephone, etc.
- Repetitive movement (i.e. heavy computer/keyboard use).
- Individual will interact regularly with others verbally, in-person, and via written communication.
- May require occasional light lifting (files, copy paper, etc.).
