Fitness Specialist - On-Call/Casual

AdvantageHealth Corporation, a leader in worksite health promotion, is currently seeking On-Call/Casual Fitness & Wellness Specialists for their onsite fitness & wellness programs located in Minneapolis, MN. The qualified individual(s) will assist the Fitness & Wellness Program Manager and onsite fitness staff in partnering with our client contacts to support the organization’s activity-based wellness initiatives.

Specific duties for this position will include fulfilling established processes and procedures to ensure safe and effective member participation in the Center’s exercise and activity programs and teaching periodic group exercise classes. The Fitness & Wellness Specialist(s) will also be responsible for assisting in the daily supervision of the Fitness Center and wellness programming, conducting facility orientations, and most importantly, providing outstanding customer service to Fitness Center members.

This individual will have a minimum of three to six months of practicum and/or work experience within a comprehensive fitness/wellness effort in a corporate or community setting, with an emphasis on program development, activity-based programming, group and individual training, and membership recruitment/retention. In addition, this person will possess the ability to consult with members at all levels, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral skills.

He or she must hold, or be in progress of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, corporate wellness, or other health-related fields. Knowledge of exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, health promotion programming, corporate wellness, and facility operations favored. Professional certifications by nationally recognized health/fitness organizations are preferred. This individual must hold a current certification in CPR/AED.
