General Description:

This position is responsible for acting in partnership with the Depot Manager to direct all functions of daily transportation. Responsible for the scheduling and supervision of drivers at Operating Company (OpCo), and for ensuring deliveries and pickups are made in safe, efficient, and timely manner. Monitoring all Department of Transportation (DOT) logs, ensures drivers are in compliance with all DOT and OpCo regulations, and coordinates the tracking of all relevant information on drivers. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company. Supervises associates to include, but not limited to staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.Rides with drivers for training and/or evaluation purposes.

Job requirements:

• Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of our transportation services.
• Oversee a team of drivers, dispatchers, and logistics personnel, ensuring they adhere to safety regulations and meet performance targets.
• Ensures Delivery Associate compliance with local, state and federal regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, OSHA, etc.) and ensures that electronic logs are kept current and accurate.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
• Prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.
• Plan and optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
• Monitor and manage vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles meet safety standards.
• Track and report key performance metrics to senior management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
• Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes and improve overall transportation efficiency.
• Handle any transportation-related issues or emergencies promptly and efficiently.
• Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
• Executes management functions of staff selection, development, discipline, performance reviews and/or terminations.
• Perform other related duties as needed (and as qualified).

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
• 3-5 years related experience
• Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Bilingual; English/Spanish strongly preferred
• Proven experience in transportation management, with a strong understanding of CDL Class A business operations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in transportation management software and tools.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
• Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds as needed.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment consists of occasional extreme temperature shifts ranging from very cold to very hot.
• Exposure to dust and loud noise (hearing protection is provided)
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving forklifts
• May occasionally be required to travel to other Operating Companies or the Corporate office as business needs dictate (i.e. training, business continuation, etc.).
