Position Summary:
The Transportation Safety & Training Specialist is a subject matter expert in all DOT, Company, Departmental, & Safety guidelines for Baldor Express Transportation and directs and advises Transportation personnel to execute and maintain safety standards. A teacher & coach that can administer our New Driver Training Program & assist in onboarding of new Baldor Express employees. Must also be skilled in analysis and pattern recognition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to Regional Manager - Transportation Safety BNY,
- Administer & oversee New Driver Training Program,
- Onboard newly hired Baldor Express drivers,
- Create Driver Qualification files for Express employees,
- Conduct roadside observations, & site visits,
- Conduct ongoing Safety & company specific training,
- Responsible for accident & injury reports, as well as investigative functions relating to both,
- Conduct disciplinary action up to & including termination as a result of Transportation Safety & company violations,
- Oversee all aspects of Fleet safety,
- Responsible for safety related equipment supply & maintenance for Baldor Express drivers, i.e. cones, vests, fire extinguishers etc.
- Coach & correct negative behavior & failure to adhere to DOT & company SOP's,
- Conduct Customer site safety audits - Including new customer onboarding,
- Provide customer site safety recommendations & corrective action plans,
- Maintain a quarterly Safety & Training bonus sheet,
- Assist BNY in data collection regarding accident & injury trends,
- Collaborate with BNY in creating trainings to address D.C. specific areas of deficiency,
- Host quarterly Driver meetings,
- Other duties as assigned.
