Modern Mobility Partners, a full-service transportation planning firm founded in January 2018, is looking for a Transportation Planner with interest in transportation planning, travel demand modeling, data processing and analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping, and/or emerging technologies, including connected and autonomous vehicles. This position is open to several levels of experience including entry-level candidates to those with over five years of experience.
This position will assist our growing firm in the preparation of transportation planning studies, reports, and analyses. The candidate will have the opportunity to support project managers and senior leadership in project delivery in the field of transportation planning, planning processes, data analytics, project prioritization and performance measures, funding/grant strategies, and/or new and emerging technologies, among other disciplines as needed.
The individual will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and to perform planning and technical tasks for a variety of projects. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Assist with research and national best practices in a variety of topics related to transportation planning
- Collect, compile, review, and organize data for planning studies
- Data analysis, including big data sources, complex formula calculations using programs such as Excel and/or R, revenue forecasts, return on investment, post-processing of travel demand or survey data, calculating project performance metrics, etc.
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping and analysis
- Assist with identifying challenges and opportunities and developing solutions that best meet the project needs
- Write and edit reports
- Assist with preparation of PowerPoint presentations
- Communicate with project managers on status of projects and tasks
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in City/Regional/Urban Planning or Transportation Engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in ArcGIS
Preferred Qualifications
- AICP or PE certification or ability to obtain within three years
- Proficiency in data processing, coding, and visualization platforms such as R, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Graphic design experience a plus
