The Transportation Manager is a leadership role responsible for the planning and organizing the overall operations of the transportation department in accordance with federal, state and IMGA Standards
Position Responsibilities

• Manage transport service partnerships (Bus, Black Car) to maximize efficiency and delivery of service
• Supervise transportation projects and monitor fleet performance.
• Analyze workflow process and conduct strategic meetings with relevant stakeholders.
• Oversee the management of the transportation budget to maximize profits
• Develop strategies to utilize customer insights to improve service and employee engagement in the implementation of positive change
• Establish continued education for the Transportation department
• Oversight on problem solving transportation scheduling to create and maximize efficiencies
• Drive activities related to maximizing cost reduction and service opportunities.
• Make recommendations to company management for cost savings and efficiency improvements by analyzing data and identifying trends/opportunities.
• Plan, organize and manage the work of direct staff to ensure that work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
• Direct procurement processes, including vehicle negotiations and required licensure (DOT)
• Foster positive relationships with and communication with Academy Departments and Vendors
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethic codes
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• AS / BS Degree in transportation, supply chain management, logistics management, business analysis, math or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in DOT process and procedures
• Minimum 5-year management experience to include employee relations, performance management, hiring, training, and coaching.
• 3+ years’ experience with software tools for scheduling, maintenance, and other applicable applications.
• Strong decision making, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences
• Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization
• A superior work ethic
• Desire to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Transportation and Logistics (CPL) in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual
• Experience managing a multi-model transportation environment

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
• Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
• Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
